Important Announcements
The Gambians Association wishes to thank Mr. Alieu Bah for the sms services he has been rendering for us. The Association has now subscribed to a paid service and therefore decided to draw some guidelines to govern it. The guide lines were drawn principally based on Mr. Bah’s experience and recommendations.
Our sms subscription has a limit of 1000 text messages per month with a price tag of 8.95 Euros/per month. It means that we have to pay 8.95 Euros every month whether we send text messages or not. However, Elisa shall only send us a bill when our consumption riches 25 Euros. Any extra sms send after exhausting the limit will be charged 0.60 Euros. What remains to be clarified is whether we will continue sending text messages after exhausting our limit or not. That will be an issue to be discussed in our next board or general meeting.

SMS Rules
The association shall not send commercial text messages. Business people who want to advertise their products or services shall do so via our website and a fee is charge. Commercials that relates to our culture-eg the association or someone else bringing Jaliba Kuyateh may be considered.
We shall send text messages only for paying members. Nevertheless, we will consider those that have paid their membership fee at least once.
There must be a lead time for sending text messages. This means that one has to inform us of his/her desire to send text messages a day in advance.
The association shall send only two text messages per event. The organizer of the event is at liberty to choose the content of the sms. One may choose to send a text message in advance to be followed by a reminder closed to the event or send in advance to be followed by a thank you note after the event.
SMS shall only be sent between 12 noon and 9pm.
The board also wishes to thank everyone who has in one way or the other contributed towards the establishment of The Gambians Association. Without what you did, the association would not have been what it is today. I have no desire in mentioning names but you know yourselves and we know you too.
